Downtown Shakopee

Shop Local / Main Street Shakopee, a program of the Shakopee Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau, is a collaborative community-wide effort to revitalize our historic downtown and Highway 101 business district. We are a Minnesota Main Street Community designated by the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota.

riversouthRiverSouth is a joint public-private collaboration promoting the premier entertainment opportunities in the southwest Twin Cities. Partners include Canterbury Park, Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, Valleyfair, the Renaissance Festival, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, and the cities of Prior Lake and Shakopee.

City of Shakopee

shakopee-cityShakopee is a community that has grown quickly over the past 25 years. As of July 1, 2013, the U.S. Census Bureau estimated Shakopee’s population at 39,167. This is a 5.6-percent increase since the 2010 census (37,076) and 89.5-percent increase since 2000 (20,564). In 1990, the City’s population was 11,739 – a 230-percent increase over the last quarter century.
