O’Brien’s Public House

You’ll think you’re truly in the heart of the Old Country at O’Brien’s Public House located in Downtown Shakopee. With their authentic Irish cuisine, it makes sense why they’ve become such a hot spot for both locals and travelers! Having traveled to Ireland a few years back, I know what amazing Irish food tastes like. Let me tell you, O’Brien’s fish & chips are one of the closest I’ve found to the real deal. They serve some other delicious Irish classics as well like shepherd’s pie and corned beef and cabbage. They also have daily specials including all you can eat ribs on Mondays for $14, fish tacos & a pint for $13 on Tuesdays, and kids can even eat for free on Sundays from 4 – 9 pm! If you’re a breakfast person, check out their brunch menu on Saturdays from 11 am – 2 pm and Sundays from 9 am – 2 pm!

If you’re going for lunch, check out their $6.99 lunch menu (from 11am – 2 pm) which includes a one-topping pizza, fettuccine alfredo, or their famous beer-battered walleye sandwich. Pho83

I had never tried Pho before so, when heading into Pho 83, I didn’t have much of an idea of what to expect. I was blown away by how delicious everything was! I tried their classic, sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, but I was also able to try their famous Pho and I’m trying to contain myself from going back every day this week! I was very impressed with their large menu. They had something for everyone! Definitely put this spot on the top of your to-try list!

Mexican Cuisine

Shakopee has a few great options when it comes to Mexican Cuisine and it’s impossible for us to pick a favorite! Pablo’s Mexican Restaurant – voted a top five Mexican Restaurant in the Twin Cities – has been around for decades and it is their mission to make every dining experience memorable for customers. They’re known for their homemade salsa and it’s so great i wish I could take some to go every time! For a great deal, go for their 2 for $24 special that includes an appetizer and two entrees!

The newer spot on the scene is Bravis, located in Downtown Shakopee. Often referred to as “mexican food with a twist,” with their street-food style options, you can taste some of the best food around without breaking the bank! Their pineapple bowl is a fan-favorite and is served up exactly how it sounds – in a pineapple! How fun! When ordering one of their fantastic burritos, be sure to add a little extra flavor with one of their many unique add-ons like hot Cheetos or french fries!

For another dining experience to remember, El Toro has an incredible list of deals for lunch, dinner & happy hour! Their lunch specials, from 11 am – 2:30 pm are all under $12! Dangerfield’s has an atmosphere that’s hard to find anywhere else. With their high-end menu and beautiful space, you’ll feel like royalty from the second you walk through the door. Start out with one of their snack options like the tomato bruschetta or coconut shrimp. For your main dish, order one of their delicious steaks or their fresh grilled salmon! They also have quite an impressive full bar with whatever wine, beer or cocktail you’re in the mood for!

Hy-Vee Market Grille

With my unfortunately choosy palette, I sometimes struggle deciding what to order when I dine out. At Hy-Vee Market Grille, I never have! No matter the mood I’m in, I can always find something that sounds great whether it be breakfast, seafood, salads, burgers, or flatbreads! I’ve pushed myself to try new things here and boy am I glad I did – their peanut butter burger has become my absolute favorite thing on the menu! Their margarita flatbread pizza is a close second.
