Sever’s Holiday Lights

November 25, 2021 through January 2, 2022

Wind your way through Sever’s Holiday Lights, a half-mile drive-through display of over two million twinkling holiday lights.  Enjoy the full program from the observation lot after your tour, or drive through the course as many times as you like.  Advance tickets are required and can be purchased online (choose a non-peak time for a budget-friendly option).

Holiday Fest 

December 4, 2021

1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Kick off the holiday season at Shakopee’s Holiday Fest!  Browse the market for holiday gifts from local vendors, enjoy holiday activity stations at downtown businesses, check out the walk-through parade, and get a photo with Santa.  Food will be available for purchase from Kraz’d Foodnatik MN and Cookie Dough Bliss Twin Cities.  Wrap up the day with the tree lighting in front of River City Centre and a fireworks display.

Folkways of the Holidays: Village Guided Tours

December 7-9, 11, 15, 18-19, 21-22, and 28-29, 2021

Join a costumed tour guide at The Landing for a tour of historic homes decorated for the holiday season.  Experience mid-winter traditions brought to Minnesota by 19th century immigrants, including spinning a dreidel, caroling, and more.  Reservations are required 24 hours in advance and can be made online.

Kid’s Craft to Go

Pick up available December 11 and December 13-17, 2021

Stop by the Scott County Historical Society for a take-home activity kit to make a holiday craft.  Instructions and supplies are included.  Although the craft kit is free, pre-registration is required to ensure there are enough supplies—register online or call 952-445-0378.

Winter Lights at the Arboretum

November 18, 2021 through January 2, 2022

Enjoy 16 winter light displays spread across a half-mile, stroller-friendly walk around the Arboretum grounds.  Warm up at a bonfire midway through your tour (s’mores packages are available for purchase) and admire ice sculptures.  Family Nights—scheduled for December 2 and 9—include complimentary hot cocoa, cookies, and crafts.  Advance tickets are available online.

Shakopee Winter Wonderland

Enjoy a huge, festive residential Christmas lights display that may even include a chance to visit with Santa.  The public is free to walk the path whenever the lights are on, and crafts, cookies, hot cocoa, and coffee are available in the garage.
