An Evening of Archaeology
Did you know there are over 101 recorded archaeological sites and 43 Alpha Sites in Scott County? You’re invited to join Archaeologist, Steven Blondo, Blondo Consulting, LLC, for an evening of Archaeology, September 14, 2017 from 6:30-8:00pm! The Metro Area Collaborative consisting of Anoka, Dakota, and Scott County Historical Societies are exploring and documenting archaeological sites in their backyards, thanks to a Legacy Grant. Blondo will discuss the project goals, identifying archaeological site leads in Scott County, and how they fit into what we know about Minnesota Prehistory. Important past excavations and plans for future public opportunities to dig into Scott County’s past will also be discussed. Visitors can meet with the project archaeologist from 6:30-7pm, followed by a project presentation. Presentation is free.
